Surgery alterations

We have had a new desk installed at reception at our Borrowash surgery which is disability compliant and allows our staff to sit when answering calls.

A Touch screen has been installed at all 3 sites. This means that patients arriving for appointments can check themselves in, so allowing the receptionists more time for those patients that need help.

New Phone System

The installation of the new phone system caused a number of problems which, on some days, led to a failure of the high standards we set in answering calls. The practice raised their concerns at the highest level with the responsible company and all of the installation problems have now been fixed to our satisfaction. We are sincerely apologetic to the patients who struggled to get through to reception at the time of the installation.

Visit Triage

If you request a home visit a doctor will usually telephone you to assess your need and to determine whether your request can be dealt with another way such as a repeat prescription.

Quality Practice Award

The practice is currently preparing documentation to submit to the Royal College of General Practitioners in the expectation that we will be presented again with a Quality Practice Award. The current award expired in 2007.

Fellowship Award

Dr Disney has recently been nominated as a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, he will receive the award in May 2008.

First Commissioning Group

The practice is part of the first commissioning group along with 4 other practices; Overdale, Chapel St, Oakwood & Park Farm.

The group will be commissioning services that will be delivered locally. Areas we are currently looking at is diabetes care, demetology, COPD, sexual health and other long term conditions.
